Oh, bb, I'm sorry the exam was so blechy. At least you've got the chance to rest for a few days. Take care of yourself <3

I just nominated more stuff for lotsfic_awards today. I hope things start picking up - there's a lot of great fic out there :)

I saw the prompt for LotS LAS - you are evil and brilliant ;D

Also Jennsen ftw :D

I still haven't turned in my nominations, but I promise that I will. I've read a ton of fic and I have to go back and make sure I have all the names and authors straight.

LotS has had a ton of great fic posted this year and it's going to be very hard for me to choose my nominations.

Sorry that the exam was so awful.

You've still got plenty of time. I'm more worried about the lack of R/K noms than anything, because I know I can count on you and Lisa, and other darklings for Rare Pair Het, but idk for R/K.

90% of the Rare Pair Het noms are for Darken/Kahlan also. If the trend keeps up, I may wind up declaring them no longer a Rare Pair and giving them their own category, to make sure that the other 10% of Rare Pair Het fics don't get lost in the shuffle.

It's going to be weird if D/K gets its own category but R/K becomes a rare pair...

Idk why there isn't very much R/K out there, but that's what it seems like to me.

I'm not really sure, since I don't really seek out R/K fic, but it does seem like D/K is now more prevalent than R/K.

I'm glad I don't have to write that LAS prompt :D Although it's a wonderful idea and something I might try a variant of some other time. I'll be interested to see what the authors come up with :D

Three more exams :D Then you can relax for a bit :D

I think I'm going to try and do it too. I'm just really excited by the idea of it, to see how the dialogue is used differently.

It's like an exercise we used to do in acting class when I was getting my BA in theatre performance. We'd be given scripts with lines without any context, and then each pair in the class would have to rehearse and prepare a scene, giving the lines context through action, and it was really interesting how it turned out. Like, me and my partner decided we were a lesbian couple preparing a nursery for a baby we were adopting, another group had a meth lab, another group was preparing a race horse, and another group had just murdered someone.

LMAO at such different scenarios and what they could possibly have in common :D

Well the lines we were given was essentially an argument between two people trying to decide what to do about some unspecified problem. Me and my partner argued over where to put the crib, the meth people argued over whether the police knew about their lab, the race horse group was arguing over whether the horse was in racing condition, and the murdered group was arguing over how to dispose of the body.

But because we could only say the lines we'd been given, we had to supply the context of our argument through action and the way we said the lines. It was really interesting. <3
