Tara pulled the strips from the foetal monitor into her lap and started to read over the print-outs. It was a nice healthy heartbeat and the gentle, regular beep beep of the monitor was soothing

Evie entered Tara's room, a huge grin on her face as she spread her arms out. "You are so lucky that I have about three pairs of scrubs in my locker otherwise I would have been coming in wearing my Urine Chic outfit." She laughed softly and started to pull her blonde hair back into a ponytail as she bent down to press a kiss to Tara's cheek. "It's not the same when it's not Riley spilling the pee on me. I don't feel like chatting up anyone else."

Tara laughed. "Again? Oh, well, it's not like you can top much more on Riley. He's a pretty fine catch, even if he thinks he's worth about as much as a holey shoe." She placed the strips on the bed beside her and gestured to the chair. "Sit down, have a wee chat. Just shove Lachie's jacket onto the floor."

"It's also a pretty good story to be able to tell people when they ask us how we met. Not everyone gets a urine sample tipped on them and then come out of it with the love of their life. I'm running out of ways to make him realise that he's all I need." Her grin turned more into a wistful smile as she draped Lachlan's jacket over the end of Tara's bed before taking a seat. "Where is the gorgeous Scot who should be inhabiting this jacket?"

"He just needs continuous TLC. I remember when Lachie was trying to recover, he thought he was useless, worthless. Everything Riley is trying to push through right now. But they find their path, if they know they have a reason to fight."

Tara smiled and picked up copies of the two potential nurseries to hand them to Evie. "Well, no doubt you heard about my husband knocking a guy out cold in the cafeteria. Your other half has done or said something to inject a bit of hope into my other half. As we speak, they're supposed to be at home painting the nursery."
