Luke made a muffled put out sound from where his face was half squished into the pillow. "Amnow..." he mumbled and cracked an eye open to look at her sleepily.
Tab couldn't help but grin as she kissed him again, and her hand rubbed his hip. She kept her face close to his, not really concerned about morning breath. "I'm sorry, I just... I still can't believe last night. And I'm not just talking about the knee-weakening victory sex."
Tab hooked her leg over his and worked on getting their bodies pressed tightly together. She gave him a sheepish look from behind her fringe as it obscured her eyes a little. "What Lachlan did. I still can't believe it."
Tab took his hand in hers and held his arm to her chest as she settled down on the bed beside him. She was always so restless in the mornings, but she did know that this was a moment to pick a position and keep still. "Well, I think it is a good thing. I think she makes him happy, even if he's still trying to find his feet with what they're supposed to do. As for you, I'd be a little worried if you did know how to handle something like losing your uncle. No one should be used to that kind of thing. And if you want to fall apart, you can. I'm here to help put all your pieces together."
Luke nodded, staying quiet at first. He wet his lips and was soon frowning sadly. "I don't know how I'm supposed to feel today. I just feel kind of numb. More worried about Andy than anything, but maybe I'm just using that as an excuse not to deal with it myself. I was going to suggest a trip to Boston to Andy later in the week to see his Mum. You could come with us."
"I'll go wherever you want me to, but only if you do want me there." Tab pressed a soft kiss to the spot just below his jaw. "All we have to do today is just move through it slowly. I can always run to the bank and be back in twenty minutes with some food so we can hole up for a little while. Maybe you just need to take a day to bum around and feel numb?"
"Of course I want you there. Andy and I always fight over who controls the radio anyway. We need intervention." Luke put his hand over his eyes in a sheer attempt not to cry. He missed his uncle and hated that he couldn't stop his cousin hurting. "Damnit," he mumbled.
