"It does," Cameron agreed in amusement. "We have calm patches where everything is fine, then it all blows up at once and we bring in reinforcements. Lachlan is a disaster magnet of late. But he's a Scot. They were born to fight and come out with their heads held high. He's never been one to do things in halves. He used to end up in huge amounds of shit when we were teenager. He'll be fine in a few days. Just needs a good dose of TLC, which luckily us lot have in bucket loads ( ... )

Cameron reached the end of his coffee and realised he was still tired. The caffeine wasn't even doing its job. "Alright then. I can hardly just say no, can I? Chivalry was never my thing. I'd be a fool to turn down an offer of your company, even when unconscious."

"Clothes are clothes. A way to not be naked. Pat ignored me for a month one time I said that to him," he sniggered. "You won't slap me, will you? I mistook Manolo Whatshisface for 'Manly Blanket' once and my twin nearly had a coronary."

"Did you want to come back to my place, or should we just go to your hotel?" Harri drank the rest of her coffee so that it wasn't just sitting there. "You'd still be a sexy fool if that makes you feel better."

Harri put on a look of exaggerated shock before she laughed. "Aiden is just as designer challenged and I have yet to slap him for it. I think I can cope."

"All my stuff is at the hotel. Does it help that it's the Plaza? Again, joys of being a celeb back home," Cameron said with a smirk. "Sexy? I must look like hell. I'm in desperate need of a shower and a comfy bed. Now that I know Aiden will make sure Pat is okay, I can sign off until tomorrow when my folks arrive."

"But I bet he looks good in anything you put him it. He has those model looks. Tall, tanned, winning smile. I can see why he's won so many people over in his business. A lot like you," he added.

"Need a little help scrubbing your back? In a completely non-sexual way of course," Harri laughed. "The Plaza is perfect. I'll try my hardest to make sure you're rested for your parents' arrival."

"He really is gorgeous, and he does wear clothes well." Harri smiled warmly as she tucked her blonde hair behind her ear. "Thank you, Cameron. You really know how to stroke a girl's ego."

Cameron smirked. "Oh of course. Very non-sexal back-scrubbing," he laughed. "If I don't look well-rested, Mum will kick into Mum overdrive and try feeding me multivitamins and tell me I'm doing much. As if fussing over Pat won't keep her busy enough. She'll stand in the middle of the hospital room and fire a three-way volley of Mother Mode in our direction and Lachlan's."

He waved his hand. "Only being truthful, love."

Harri covered her eyes as she laughed and gave a shake of her head. "I can honestly say I have never been so lucky as to be at the receiving end of something like that, but I can imagine."

Cameron sniggered. "It's not so bad. It's not like you need to get a word in, because you just won't. Imagine how it is when we bring Lachlan's ma and Nana into the scene. It gets interesting. It's even more interesting when they're volleying us for doing something wrong, like the time we threw the TV off the roof to see if the new plastic coverings would bounce."

Harri's eyebrows went up as she stared at him. "Please tell me that wasn't recently. Sure you're a football player and not some rock star?"

Cameron shook his head, laughing. "No, early teens. Three teenage boys the same age. I'm sure they must've prayed for sanity more than once. Lachie's only four months younger than us. To the day, actually. We're December 12th, he's April 12th. Hey, is it true Aiden's thirty on New Years Eve? You got anything planned for that?"

Harri grinned and leaned back in her seat. "Ah, well. I can see how sanity would have been a welcome thing. I'm not sure I'd ever have the patience to deal with three teenage boys without giving them a good hiding. Yes, it's true and I always have something planned. Although this year I think it's going to be at Luke's bar. With his new group of friends, apparently the Bondi is the place to be."

"Pat's going to come to me sooner or later to try and work out what he can get for Aiden's birthday. Do you have any ideas of what direction I can push him in? To be honest, I think they're about at the jewellery stage. Pat gave Aiden his pendant. I noticed it when I arrived. That's fucking huge," Cameron noted.

"Well, let me think..." Harri's tongue touched the corner of her mouth as she looked down at her coffee cup thoughtfully. "I'm still wondering what to get my BFF's boyfriend, and what would be appropriate to get a fling. Aiden's so honoured to have that pendant. It means the world to him, I assure you. What about some kind of tasteful bracelet? Or perhaps an engraved watch? Hard to say, I've never bought jewelery for him. He's never been a big wearer of it. I know he'd wear and love anything Pat bought him."

Cameron laughed. "You don't have to get us gifts," he assured her. "Just come along to the party and have a good time. Have you got a date or can I nab you for that?"

"I've always found guys hard to buy for. I mean, not Pat. He's a breeze. Lachlan's pretty easy, too. Get your hands on first edition albums or old rock t-shirts and he'll love you forever. Aiden isn't as easy to read. Pat's going to freak out about the whole 'It needs to be perfect, darling!' thing."

Harri leaned forward, and took his hand as her foot rubbed up against his leg. "No date, so you can most definitely nab me for that. In fact you can pretty much nab me for anything, love." She wasn't going to argue the point about presents, still determined to find each of them something.

"Perhaps tickets for them to go to a show? Aiden's hardly had time off and now his schedule is a little lighter he'll have more time for dates. I think anything Pat gives him from the heart is what will really get to Aiden."
