[As Yosuke's settled himself into Mayfield, he finds one question gnawing at the back of his head

[Grimsley is returning home from a morning of grocery shopping, carrying a single bottle of wine in his hands.

...Bisharp strides along behind him, laden with five grocery bags. They make an odd pair. Possibly, Yosuke may be curious enough at seeing the Pokemon to approach, especially as Bisharp accidentally moves his arm the wrong way and slices right through one of the bags he was attempting to hold, spilling its contents.]

Ah, the wonders you could do with opposable thumbs, old friend...

[Nope. He's never seen one of those before. A few weeks ago he would've been absolutely shocked out of his mind, but now his jaw merely drops - way to desensitize him, Mayfield. Of course he has to wander over to the two of them]

Hey, uh... do you and your incredibly unique dog need a hand?

[tenebrousking]

[Somehow, the demeanor of the steel warrior becomes even more stiff at hearing Yosuke's words; Grimsley quickly hides a smirk.]

Perhaps you could choose a better analogy there... But I'd be in your debt if you could help with this mess.

I, uh... [Yeah, probably not best to tick off the big steel thing]

Does your friend have a name? [And he starts helping to gather the fallen items before he can shove his foot further into his mouth]

[As Yosuke walked near the park, he might just have noticed a totally normal guy. Well, okay, not totally normal.]

[He might have been wearing ordinary enough clothes, but blue hair wasn't quite typical for most people. Neither was the steel lance being spun around in his hand like it weighed the same as cardboard and stabbed repeatedly at a nonexistent opponent.]

[So really quite the opposite of normal. Approach anyway, Yosuke?]

[In this town, 'normal' becomes incredibly subjective. He approaches somewhat, getting closer until he's at the perfect distance to watch and appreciate the guy's skill without risking a wayward stab. Having been in his share fights he can certainly appreciate the guy's skill - and he sure as hell doesn't want to get on his bad side.

So for now, he'll just wait until Mr. Blue Hair is done]

[Oh hey, was that an audience? Rin would probably give him hell for training in such an obvious place, but did it really matter? It wasn't as if half the city didn't already know who he was anyway.]

[Maybe he'd just enjoy the attention for the next few minutes until he finished. Shame it wasn't a pretty girl, but you couldn't win 'em all.]

Yo. Something I can do for you, kid?

[He fights the urge to applaud, as well as the urge to ask for training. Who is he, Chie?]

Don't mind me! I'm just watching - I know when I see someone that's damn good. I'm not in your way, am I?

[ Have a deceptively adorable little girl sitting on her front porch. She gives a withering look to Yosuke as he walks down the street... ]

[Withering looks? He's used to those - he got them in Inaba all the time. But they're a bit rare here, so he stops to check himself. He didn't step in any flowers, he didn't walk where he wasn't supposed to, he doesn't remember kicking any puppies.

So what the hell?]

Um... did I do something?

[ Evangeline looks the boy over for a second. So he was talking to her, was he?

Her face broke into a smirk. ]

My apologies. You looked so plain and boring, I thought for sure that you had to be one of the "drones."

My mistake.

[Great, more smart ass kids. Was he like this when he was one?]

Right, sorry. Next time I'll make sure to drive the family steamroller around town, just so you don't make that mistake.

[A young lady with bright green hair is standing in front of the pet store, staring longingly at the animals inside.]

[Bright green hair? That's something he doesn't see every day. He stops next to her, glancing inside and trying to discern just what she's looking for]

Thinking of taking one home?

[She glances over at him and smiles.]

I'd love to. What about the others, though? It doesn't seem fair to leave them behind...

They're all pretty cute, right? I'm sure someone will take them home sooner or later.

[He has the sinking feeling he won't get out of this conversation without taking home a puppy]

[Walking down the street? Awww yeah, Gil is waving.]

[Oh hey, it's the annoying kid who's actually a pretty good guy! He waves back and walks over]

Hey, King-kun. Up to anything fun today?

Not really. Did you want to do something fun?

[He shrugs]

I don't really have anything planned today. Did you have something in mind?
