Summary: After finishing up a PV shoot, Koki has a night he never would have expected.
Koki gave his last thoughts to the ‘making of’ camera and left for the stairs that would lead him back to the dressing room. After 16 hours of non-stop dancing and trying to look cool he was beat.
He wandered towards the room stretching as Kame came out, already dressed back into his casual clothes, make-up gone, and was checking his phone.
“You going already?” Koki asked slight annoyance in his voice seeing as the shoot hadn’t even been completed yet.
“Yep,” Kame confirmed closing his phone and pocketing it, “It’s one of the perks of being the ‘K’ in KAT-TUN.”
“I guess it is.” Koki mumbled. Lucky for some guys he guessed. “I’ll probably catch you later then. We start rehearsals soon.”
“That’s right. I’ll see you later.” He gave a quick wave and ran off back down the steps. Koki gave a weak wave to his retreating form before entering the dressing room.
Jin was in front of the mirror fixing his hair with one hand, his other pressed his phone to his ear as he spoke softly to whoever was at the end of the line. Junno was stood in the middle of the room pulling a T-shirt over his head. He grinned at Koki as he entered.
“I’m so glad it’s over!” He exclaimed earning a warning glance from Jin. “I can’t believe how hectic it’s been. I can’t wait to get home and have a bath.”
Koki smiled, taking down his clothes from the rack, “Tell me about it. I could just lie on that sofa and sleep right now.”
Junno laughed, “I don’t think that would be a good idea.”
“Hey, Junno.” Jin called over. “You ready to go?”
Junno nodded and the two men said their goodbyes before leaving. He was little surprised that the two of them were leaving together. He knew they both lived in the same area so it was probably easier for them to get a taxi together but it wasn’t that often they hung out together outside of work. As far as he knew anyway.
“No one’s here.” He turned quickly at the sudden sound to find Ueda had entered the room and was already at the clothes rack grabbing his clothes.
Koki shook his head and began to change.
“It seems so long ago.” He commented pulling a t-shirt over his head, “The days when we’d all wait for each other to finish then leave together.”
Ueda shrugged at Koki’s remark. “We’re all older. We don’t need to depend on each other anymore.” Koki detected a little sadness in Ueda’s tone, making his remark seem a lot less flippant. He knew he cared. They all cared. There was just nothing they could do apart it. It was they way things went. They all saw each other less and less these days and there was a slight distance forming because of it. They didn’t do the things they once did. Their lives were becoming increasingly separated. But the rare chances they did have to spend together as a group, they always made sure they made the most of it.
Before long Ueda had left. He changed quickly and hurried out the dressing room. Koki listened as the tapping of his shoes become fainter before he was left alone in silence. There was a distant hum of the shoot still continuing giving him the only sign of life.
He took his make-up off last. He threw on a jacket and untangled his headphones out of his bag. He was ready to leave when he heard someone coming up the stairs before a flustered Maru burst through the doors.
“Oh, you’re still here. I thought you’d be long gone. Thanks for waiting.” He smiled.
Koki didn’t want Maru to think that he hadn’t been waiting so he sat down and watched as Maru took his clothes from the rack and started to undress. He watched transfixed as Maru unbuttoned his shirt slipping his arms out of the sleeves. He watched as he took his t-shirt from the hanger and pulled it over his head smoothing it over his torso. He watched as Maru went to unbutton his trousers before pausing and looking up at Koki, a confused expression on his face.
“Why are you watching me get changed?”
Koki shook his head as if he’d just come out of some trance, “sorry... No. I was just looking in that general direction, thinking.” He hadn't meant to be staring. He was too tired to be careful.
Maru looked sceptically at him, a small pause before he finally said, “Mind turning away?”
Koki scooted around to face the wall, “You don’t usually mind getting changed in front of everyone.”
“I know, but you staring at me has freaked me out.”
“Sorry.” Koki mumbled. He fixed his faze on his hands glasped in fron of him listening to the rustle of clothes as Maru changed behind him.
“Okay, you can look now.”Maru finally announced.
Koki turned to find Maru fully changed into his casual clothes and was pulling on his jacket before grabbing his bag. “You know, it’s a shame it’s 1am. We could have gone out for a meal. I’m pretty hungry.” He walked towards the door with his arms stretched in the air yawning. When he realised Koki wasn’t following him he turned.
“You coming?”
“Oh yeah.” Koki said picking up his bag and running after Maru out the door. They made their way down the steps and to the door that lead outside. Before they exited they exchanged their last sentiments for a good work well done to the staff and an assistant informed them there was already a taxi waiting outside. This news delighted them as it meant they didn’t have to wait.
They sat in the taxi and Koki gave the driver his address. He was glad that shoot had been in Tokyo. The journey was spent in silence and Koki watched Maru’s form as he dozed against the window. It had been a long time since Koki and Maru had taken a private journey together. The time they were both alone with each other was becoming increasingly less as they both divulged in their own projects and KAT-TUN wasn’t required to spend every day together anymore. Koki frowned straining his brain trying to think of the last time he had truly spent with Maru, just the two of them, hanging out together. There was always atleast someone else with them in his most recent memories
He missed it. He missed the days they’d spend laughing and joking around with each other. He missed coming up with new gags. He missed simply having the man to himself.
The car came to a halt and the driver announced they’d reached Koki’s apartment complex. Koki thanked him and was about to leave when the driver indicated to Maru.
“What about him? Where does he want dropping off?”
“Oh...” Koki opened his mouth to inform the driver of Maru’s address when another thought popped into his head.
He shook Maru’s sleeping form, “Hey, Maru.” When Maru just groaned in response he gave him a sharp slap against his cheek.
“Ow! What? I’m awake!” Maru jumped slightly, shocked from the sudden change. He looked at Koki confused rubbing at his face, “What’s happening?”
“We’re at my apartment.”
“Oh.” Maru nodded.
“You look really tired,” Koki continued, “want to just stay over at mine instead?”
Maru thought for a second before agreeing. They paid the driver and exited the taxi making their way towards the building.
They walked side by side in silence both drowsy from a long days work. It had been fun but it was incredibly draining. Koki wouldn’t be surprised if they both went straight to bed once they got in. However, he remembered Junno mentioning wanting a bath and that sounded very enticing. There was nothing like a bath to wash away the day’s weariness.
Koki unlocked his door and they both stumbled in slipping off their shoes. Maru dropped his bag haphazardly on the floor and headed for the sofa to collapse. Koki smiled at his friend and made his way into the kitchen. He looked through cupboards for something to eat finally settling on an instant meal he found in the fridge. It was something he found himself living off regularly when he was at home alone not having the time or the inclination to cook after a days work.
He shoved it in the microwave watching it turn throught the glass. When he’d finished he halved it onto two plates and took them into the living room. Maru was sprawled out exhausted on his sofa. He placed the plates on the table in front of the sofa and shook his friends shoulder.
“Why do you insist on keeping me awake?” Maru mumbled into a cushion.
Koki laughed lightly,“I made us some food. You said you were hungry.”
Maru perked up at the admission and they both sat side by side eating their food. Maru finished first putting down his plate and lay back down on the sofa.
When Koki had finished he took the plates back to the kitchen and put them in the dishwasher. It was one of the best investments he'd made.
He headed back to the living room to find Maru hadn't moved an inch. “Why don’t you grab some blankets and pull out the futon if you're going to sleep? I’m going to go take a bath.”
Maru nodded in understanding but stayed where he was.
Koki said nothing more leaving him and headed for the bathroom to take his bath. The bath was relaxing. The events of the day seemed so long ago. All he wanted to do was curl up and sleep before he had to get up and have another busy day at work tomorrow.
When he’d finished he dried himself pulling on a pair boxers and a t-shirt deciding they were good enough to sleep in. He ambled towards his bedroom turning off the lights as he went. He was surprised to find Maru curled up sleeping in his bed. He didn’t mind though. He loved being close to the other man. He slipped in under the sheets beside him and closed his eyes falling asleep immediately.
He was woken some time later, he had no how long it actually was, by someone pressing close against him, their arms around him caressing his back. When he realised what was happening and who it was, his mind reeled and he tensed up. “Yuichi?” He called softly barely audible.
Maru froze immediately at the sudden sound and for a long while they were in complete silence and stillness. Eventually Maru started to move suddenly pressing his lips against Koki’s own, his hands pulling Koki closer towards him.
Koki was to in too much shock to respond. He loved the man. He always had. He had pushed those feelings way down inside him never in an attempt never to let them surface. He had been so careful not to indicate the affection and longing he had for the other man and in the many years he'd know him there had been nothing for him to worry that someone knew. So his head was trying to figure out why Maru was doing this. Deep down he hoped it was because Maru returned those feelings but he knew that it couldn't be true. It was a lot more likely that Maru was just lonely.
Slowly he returned the kiss placing his arms around the other man. They stayed like that in each others embrace for a while softly exploring each others mouths. Slowly the kiss got increasingly heated and somehow they lost their clothes and Maru was on top of him running his hands down down his body. Koki couldn’t think properly. It was going too fast. It was a blur. He wondered how Maru had got so confident suddenly.
Maru broke away and started kissing down Koki’s body before taking him fully into his mouth. Koki breathed heavily grasping at Maru’s hair as the other man pleasured him. Eventually he let out a long moan as he climaxed.
Maru came back up and curled into Koki. Neither of the men said a word. Koki's head was still reeling from the contact. There was no way he wanted to leave it at that. He slowly reached down a hand and stroked him. Maru clutched tightly to Koki’s back at the contact. As Koki worked Maru breathed heavily into the crook his neck now and again eliciting a moan. Koki couldn’t help but thinking at how beautiful Maru was to him then. He had never considered anything like this ever happening between the two of them even when he’d first realised his feelings. It was a taboo. He'd never let his thoughts wander. Maru was a colleague but more importantly, a friend.
When Maru came they stayed clinging to each other. As his breathing eased Koki pulled the sheets over them and they stayed locked in their sticky embrace.
Before he let sleep overcome him he considered as to how they would both disregard this incident in the morning. It was baffling to Koki how two people could be so close and yet so distant.
note: I am seriously not that happy with this fic. It didn't quite come out how I wanted it to. Also, oh my god! first sex scene ever! =O Usually, I leave it up to the imagination but =O I may never write one again and I couldn't go into too much detail. I tried to be as vague as I could. It's embarrassing as it is! Anyway, hope you enjoyed.
