inara223 and hollywoodgrrl have implanted the idea in my brain and now IT WILL NOT GET OUT. Keeley Hawes as Romana. Nothing could be more perfect. Nothing, I tell you.

Keeley's got this fantastic sense of dignity that any actress playing Romana needs, she could have sexual chemistry with a pair of odd socks, she's beautiful, her voice is so very Time Lady-esque, and she's one half of the super adorable RL OTP that is her and Matthew McFadyen (that's not important but I felt it necessary to mention) and she definitely has the range and ability to go interesting places with the character.

Although she rocks the perm and I love the blonde locks, short haired ginger Keeley is my favourite choice for Romana 3. Observe:

That is a Romana outfit, yes. Also if you squint it kind of looks like she's standing in the TARDIS.

In my head this is post-Time-War-slightly-broken-but-hardened-Romana.

"Hello, Doctor. Did you miss me?"

NOT TO MENTION HER ROLES ALONGSIDE THE FOLLOWING:

Paul McGann:

Christopher Eccleston:

David Tennant:

John Simm:

Come on, kiddies. SEE THE LIGHT. She is perfect. I do know that if Romana is ever brought back to the show, any casting other than Keeley Hawes will be seriously, seriously disappointing. TAKE NOTE, MR. DAVIES. (Also Philip Glenister for the Eleventh Doctor.)
