It's been too long since I've seen it to do a proper capslocky squeeful reaction, but here are a couple of thoughts about
The Doctor's Daughter.
- I enjoyed it - bit of a silly plot; ENOUGH of deus ex machina already guys, but ohh the character stuff was great. But I think it was my least favourite so far this season. :/
- God, I loved the Doctor in this one. My favourite "I am the Last of the Time Lords" speech yet, I heart the Doctor's quiet angst. David did an excellent job with those scenes. Also, had a moment of batshittery when he listened to her heartbeats and freaked out; clearly since she looks so much like Lalla Ward, it was a Romana-angst moment. YES IT WAS.
- Speaking of angst, what was with Martha's crying session over that fishperson? I mean, ILU Martha but why was she so affected? (My headcanon is that it was because she has PTSD moments, particularly about Tom dying and someone sacrificing themselves so she could live brought it all to the fore. But I don't think DW is nearly deep enough for that, hahah. BUT IT IS SO IN MY HEAD. And the fic I'm writing.)
- Other than that, Martha was fantastic and adorable and yay. I loved "I'm Doctor Martha Jones, who the hell are you?", and squeed a bit over it. And her vereh vereh cute scene with the fishpeople. :D
- DONNA IS THE BEST EVER YAY. I love her so. And Team Donna/Ten/Martha/Jenny ftw. But WHYYYYY did she say "I'll travel with him forever"? DON'T SAY THAT. Donna is so fucking doomed, y'all. :(
- Jenny! Took me a while to like her but after she snogged Chris-in-Space, I loved her to bits, heee. Especially with the Doctor. They were fantastic together and I'm so happy she's not dead. I don't THINK she'll be back for the finale, but it would be awesome if she was in one of the 2009 specials.
TWO WEEKS UNTIL MOFFAT OMG
