maeda_marikaDisclaimer: I don't own KAT-TUN, any of its members, any other JE people. I write this for fun and for other fans of these fine folks. But don't steal my plots, mmkay? I put a great deal of time into them except for when I'm randomly spastically spitting words onto a page. But I value those too...
Summary: Two criminals with vastly different styles meet by chance one day. They immediately clash but is that all they'll ever be? How much is fate and how much choice? And how will their meeting change the world around them?
Author's Note: Well, here you go. Back to the present, the next day from the whole "meeting the twins" thing.
BANNER BY
deshisoraba!!
Okay, now I have two banners and they're both amazing (oh, and you should see the wallpaper version of this banner.... so nice!), so I will be rotating them out every few chapters. Thanks to both going_dangerous and deshisoraba for my wonderful two banners.
Warning: This gets graphic often occasionally, containing at the very least foul language, character death, nefarious crimes, rape, etc etc.

The Things We Can't Control Master Post Chapter 83 ~The Fire and The Blood~
He was hungry. He was so very hungry. Cruel eyes, eager and disdainful. Hands on him, spreading him, and then the pain and those horrible little grunts that came with every thrust . And he couldn’t cry, he just couldn’t, because he hadn’t eaten in days and he was starving. But it was all so humiliating and it hurt so much.
One last grunt. A body shuddered above him and something spilled inside him… something hot and… and… he still didn’t like it. How many days in a row and he still didn’t like it… It was wrong. Everything was wrong.
But he couldn’t cry. He wasn’t… those weren’t… oh, god, he saw! He saw!
No words. Just disappointment in those cold, uncaring eyes and then he was walking away. He tried to follow but it hurt. Moving hurt. He couldn’t stop the tears but maybe, if he could make it to the door before it closed… but it seemed like it just got further away as he tried to limp towards it. And then it was closed and then the sound he was dreading, that click-click of the lock on the outside of the door and he knew he was left to starve another day.
He couldn’t… he… he was so hungry. How many days had it been? Weakly banging on the door with the palm of his hand, he tried to shout but his voice came out so thready and not nearly loud enough. “No! No, let me out, papa! I’m… I’m…”
But he trailed off when he realized something had changed. He… this wasn’t his room, was it? Where was he? How did he…
Wait, this was The Club. This was Akira and Aoi’s club…
He could have sworn he was just in his room. Where was everyone and… and he was still naked and hurt and hungry and that just couldn’t be right. Did that mean it wasn’t a dream? What was going on?
A sound from behind him. He spun around and there was the whole of Kizuna, somehow. The room shouldn’t be big enough, he knew that. Nevertheless, there they were. All of them. Staring at him, judging him… and he was naked, still limping from his father’s “lessons” and sporting finger-shaped bruises on his arms and his thighs. The scars on his chest…
But nobody said anything. They just… stared, eyes so much colder than he could remember ever seeing from them.
And then Jin, pushing his way through the crowd, trying to get to the front. But there was the sudden smell of smoke and that’s when he realized to his horror that fire was following Jin, consuming everyone he passed. He could see them all screaming but there was no sound. And when Jin made it to the front, he pointed and their eyes locked for a brief moment.
What was he pointing at…?
That’s when he realized he was bleeding. Blood dripping down to the floor from both wrists. He realized it just as the fire that had already taken all of Kizuna finally captured Jin as well.
He sank to his knees right there in the pool of his blood, laughing just like that time in the hotel when he beat that man to death. The fire, it was all around him, closer and closer, till he was burning too, burning alive just like Kizuna and he could smell the blood and the fire and somehow that smell was worse even than the pain of his skin blackening and that’s when he heard his father’s laughter.
And all he could do was close his eyes tightly and scream.
But then everything stopped. The pain, the smell… all of it. Cautiously he opened one eye and saw he was back in the church. Jin was more or less leaning over him, his expression clearly concerned.
“Are… are you okay? You were crying but I couldn’t wake you…” Jin whispered. “You just wouldn’t wake up!”
So it was all a dream after all. But it had felt so very real…
That was it. He needed to get a grip on himself. His Kizuna family needed him. Jin needed him. He absolutely couldn’t break down, not now. And who knows how long this mess will take? Short of killing his father, how was he supposed to stop him?
Unless he really did give himself over.
The idea terrified him but if it looked like no other solution would work, he’d do it. He had to. You don’t spend seven years rescuing people and then just feed them to the same monsters that threatened to consume them in the first place.
“It’s okay. Just a nightmare, Jin.”
Jin smiled. “Well, you know what the perfect cure for that is, right?”
Kame pushed all of the dread and fear down deep and smiled back. He just… he didn’t want Jin to worry. “Is the door locked still?”
“Probably,” Jin laughed, leaning back down to kiss him, murmuring something that sounded vaguely like “open sesame” before their lips touched.
Closing his eyes, Kame answered tenderness to tenderness. And when the kiss finally ended, his heart was beating so fast. It was still so new, actually wanting someone. Wanting to do this with someone. He never thought he would. He was sure of it.
But, oh, he was so happy to be wrong for once.
With a slight giggle, Kame whispered back, “Already? Two times last night wasn’t enough?” But Jin’s hand was traveling down his body as he spoke, brushing his fingertips along the length of the already erect shaft when he got there, coaxing a whimper from Kame.
“Apparently not for you…” Jin whispered back.
Well, he had a point…
But unfortunately, it turned out to be a moot point as there was a sudden knock on the office door.
Seriously, it better be an emergency…
Kame rolled his eyes and growled in frustration, but there wasn’t a whole lot of bite to it because he knew nobody would be disturbing them if it wasn’t important. “Coming!” he shouted, gently pushing Jin off of him while ignoring Jin’s pitiful pout because it was making him feel unfairly guilty. But Jin sighed finally and started to dress as well.
Once they were both dressed, Kame unlocked the door and then just stared in shock, waiting for his brain to figure out what he was looking at.
It was Maru.
Covered in blood.
Lots of it.
By the time Kame reached that state of awareness, Maru was speaking, “Can I stay here?” His eyes were wild. He… he looked… lost, almost. And cold. Yes, that was it. His eyes were cold. Frankly, it was a pretty terrifying sight.
“Fuck, what happened?” Jin’s voice came from behind him.
Good question, but one Maru didn’t seem to hear. “Can I stay here?”
Jaw agape, Kame fumbled out, “Uh, s-sure?”
“Thank you.”
The three of them just stood there for a moment but finally Kame was able to get the words out to ask, “Are you hurt?”
“You know the blood isn’t mine.” But the voice wasn’t harsh. It was just sort of matter-of-fact. And once the words were out, Maru turned and walked away, disappearing down the hallway in the direction of the bathroom.
Kame had barely turned around when Jin said, “Yeah, I’ll talk to him.”
How did he know Kame was about to ask that very thing? “Thanks. I’m going to go help with breakfast while you do.” He pressed a fleeting kiss to Jin’s cheek and then went on his way. Though one last thought on the sight of Maru just now sent a literal shiver through him.
Remind him never to piss Maru off.
