The biggest culture shock for me in Japan was their showers too! I know exactly what you mean. Also their toilets were a bit scary, they have a lever for adding water (there isn't any in it to begin with) and a lever to dump all the contents into... somewhere. It was nuts. But I'm glad to hear you're having so much fun! It makes me excited for September. I'm going to Korea!
