The christmas episode I assume will be like a stand alone ep. It will prob have nothing to do with the finale. It prob takes places before any of it happened.
I was SHOCKED to learn Duke caused his trouble to kick in. And I get they have a friends/enemies vibe but damn son. And how he was telling Aufrey not to trust Duke. Oh em gee.

I think maybe Nathan was shooting to kill. I kind of hope he was. Not that I want Duke dead (and I don't think for a second he will be) but I'm into this new assertive Nathan who asks ladies out for dinner-breakfasts and shoots dudes who he thinks have threatened said ladies. Seriously, how attractive was he when he asked her out!? He didn't stutter or fumble or anything (till the pancakes business-which is great because I love stuttering Nathan too). My guess is that he did shoot but that maybe a vest-laden Dwight will have happened upon the boat attracting the bullet. I guess (hope!) we'll find out next July
