What's wrong with Jennifer Hudson? Dreamgirls was awesome.

And I still like Crash.

However, I will agree with you on the Al Gore bit. ♥ He's so awesome.

I just personally feel that Jennifer Hudson won for singing her ass off, plain and simple. Her acting wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. She seems very genuine about the whole thing, though, and like a truly nice person, but I just felt that she isn't anywhere even close to being in the same league as someone like Rinki Kikuchi or Adriana Barraza, both outstanding actresses; I didn't even think Babel was that great yet their performances were incredibly poignant and made an otherwise unsatisfactory film watchable.

I just don't have any love for Crash. Possibly the most cliché and contrived movie I have seen yet. I thought it didn't even deserve to be nominated, actually. Worst Oscar winners of all time? In my opinion, yes. And keep in mind, I loathe Titanic. I really recommend you Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing. It's a movie that deals with the same concept as Crash without being so... mediocre. Just my opinion, though.

Oh, he is! ♥

I do see your point. I have to disagree on Eddie Murphy, though. I thought he was amazing. But Alan Arkin definitely deserved the win.

Like I said...I think most of my love of Crash comes from my love of Don Cheadle, and not because of actual movie quality, so you're probably right. I'll definitely check that movie out, but the lack of Don Cheadle will probably make me sad.

I was actually rooting for Djimon Hounsou, who was fantastic in Blood Diamond, though I thought Alan was also great, so I'm fine with him taking the Oscar. Also, I really wanted Ryan Gosling to take the award for best actor, even though I knew Forest Whitaker was almost guaranteed to take it (and definitely deserved it, but I just really loved Half Nelson), though a part of me was also rooting for Leonardo, because he was incredibly in The Departed. Yeah, that was probably the best category of all, I felt every single one of them deserved the nomination. Yeah. (And yes, while I haven't seen Venus, I do feel for Peter O'Toole.)

Don Cheadle is awesome, definitely! ♥ And while the film sadly does lack some Don Cheadle, it's still quite great!

He was the best thing about an otherwise unimpressive ceremony. ♥ Well, actually, Ellen was a good host but the Oscars tend to be bore even if the host pwns.

Again I'm going to spam you with Kaori Yuki goodies, sorry. I didn't watch the Oscars save for some coverage on Ellen and Al Gore on CNN (cut him off with the music...classic! XD). Sigh, I wonder what the country would have been like if Florida hadn't been an ass 7 years ago. >_>

Raws for Cruel Fairytales, Kaine, Boys Next Door, and Blood Hound here. Blood Hound actually has two more chapters to it than Sakura Crisis worked on, as well there are a bunch of old one shots included with pretty much all of them that I don't think have been translated by anybody. They're quite dated looking. ^_^'

Kaori Yuki goodies are always appreciated! Actually, I'm currently in the process of making some Ludwig icons for my LJ, and was planning on writing an entry fangirling over the Ludwig raws posted over free_manga but I needed to rant about the Oscars as well as proclaim my love for Al Gore once more! You didn't miss much, though, the ceremony was a bore even though Ellen was quite funny. The best parts were those involving Al Gore (and Leo's adorably mancrush on him, too) and Martin Scorsese finally getting an Oscar!

Thanks for the tidbit! I have to say, though, I don't think I'm liking Blood Hound so far. Probably because I don't find the main character too likeable, but I will try to give it another chance, I suppose.

I'd say the last chapter of Blood Hound is probably my favorite, but that's because it's complete and utter crack. It's not a very good series, I admit. Cain, Ludwig, and Boys Next Door are probably my faves, Kaine isn't that bad either.

Also, the character design, at least the main female character's design, isn't too impressive. She looks like the generic shoujo heroine, which is odd because Kaori Yuki draws some of the most beautiful female characters. Yeah, Cain, Ludwig, and Boy Next Door are also my favorites, with Kaine not too far behind. Angel Sanctuary, I only cared for several characters, so overall not a favorite of mine, though the characters I did end up liking are, well, teh love.
