I have been having periodic but strong cramp-like feelings in my lower stomach region for a couple of days now. Sometimes they hurt enough that I have to breathe through them. My stomach isn't tightening along with them though so I'm not sure what they are? Any ideas. I'm generally well hydrated and not overdoing it. They happen whether I'm laying ( Read more... )

my doc sent me in the other day, because the pain (like yours) was severe, making breathing difficult....it wasn't Braxton hicks (that I thought), but the pain was pretty severe.. lasted a half hour, then faded. Apparently I had/have a pretty severe UTI. Had no clue. Blood/urine and stress tests later, the docs were completely baffled why I didnt have burning pee, or any other symptoms. BUT, I am glad I called. I'm now on antibiotics.

The only other symptom I had was going pee a lot, but being a FTM, how would I know what's "too frequent", or just prego frequent!

I had similar pain most of my 3rd trimester with my most recent son. I like to call it "fake labor" because it never goes anywhere and isn't consistent unlike false labor which seems to be more consistent for a longer period of time. My pains never seemed to form a pattern or become regular and would come and go. Obviously, if they became consistent for you I'd call/go to the doctor.

Just to say that my stomach didn't tighten when I went into labor. My contractions did, however, feel exactly like you described.

Better safe than sorry.

Lady you drive me insane with your doctor avoidance! Yes, it is annoying to go to L&D and have it be nothing. But it would be much more annoying to NOT go and have it be something huge, like preterm labor.

i know, i know. it's just frustrating bc they send you for EVERYTHING so it neutralizes the idea that you could have a "real" problem. Plus, I don't ever have anyone to leave Henry with.

But you'd be proud of me, I called the Dr and went in and got checked. Apparently second babies just can cause cramping sometimes? idk. No preterm labor though which is what I was worried about so yay

Well I'm glad it's not preterm labor at least!
