Bipolar Disorder & Pregnancy

Hi guys! I'm new to the comm, and my name is Alexa. I've been trying to do some research, but I'm not really finding too much information regarding bipolar disorder and pregnancy (outside of just medical statistics and such), and I was wondering if any of you (who are obviously comfortable with sharing) would be willing to talk about how their ( Read more... )

Bipolar, have two children. Zero issues when pregnant and med free. Pregnancy is the only time in my life I've felt really stable and happy without any medication. Severe post natal slumps both times though, second time a lot better as it was recognised and managed very quickly.

I was med free during both pregnancies but went back on Zoloft and Lamictal after birth. Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.

I was just coming on to say that I've been taking Lamictal for epilepsy and have been told it's safe for pregnancy (and breastfeeding, as I am still breastfeeding my 8 month old). I've been told that's used for bipolar as well.... congrats on your pregnancy!
