i don't think you have to wait until you aren't pregnant anymore, but if you are concerned at all, maybe wait until 36/37 weeks? whatever you are most comfortable with. for me, it wasnt as much that the contractions were unbearable, but more that i was scared for my baby, i didn't want third trimester sex to lead to a preemie. (this was my personal pregnant opinion, not like a real thing that's been proven)
once i knew i was term, i was a lot better about sex. in fact, we even tried some stuff while i was in prodromal/early labor to see if we could get things kickstarted. (it prolonged the contractions but didn't bring a baby)
the night before she was actually born, we had really intense amazing, personal, emotional beautiful sex. then six hours later, boom, full blown labor! :-)
Well this is good to know! I will give it a week until we try to have sex again to make sure baby is a little better developed. Maybe even late next week like friday, saturday, just in case it would cause the contractions to bring on labor. :)
Did you try different positions? Sometimes the angles of everything (where baby is, where penis trying to go, etc) can completely alter how things will feel.
Also, you don't necessarily have to wait until 6 weeks post-birth. I see that as a general guideline that all depends on how you're feeling, how the birth went and how recovered you feel (a woman with a 3rd degree tear may wait a lot longer than a woman who didn't tear at all).
