sweet sassy molassy.

1-congratulations on a healthy baby!
2-i can't even imagine what you and your family must have been going through~I'm glad you made it through and that they didn't have to do the hysterectomy.

Congrats!!

Wow, 9lbs at 37 weeks - I can't imagine how big he'd have been at 40! Was his size related to your sugar levels at all, or is he pretty average for your family? And for three scans to be wrong, I guess he really wanted to be a surprise.

Good luck with your recovery and future surgery :)

congrats and i wish you a speedy recovery!

also, i'm REALLY interested in seeing ultrasound pics that "confirmed" you were having a girl. i'm currently 26 weeks and was told it's a girl at my 20 week anatomy scan. it was a pretty clear photo but since then i've had a dream that she was actually a he. i've aquired so many girl things i think it would be a nightmare for the gender to 'switch' on us.

heh my thoughts exactly. I'm also not 100% convinced even though "they were." you never know until they are born!

OP: Hope you have a speedy recovery. You have a great attitude! Sometimes things happen you can't possibly predict and I'm happy you have a healthy baby in the end of it all! :) Enjoy!

My aunt found out her "girl" was a boy just a few days before her due date!

This is one of the reasons I didn't with my first and still don't with my second want to find out before the baby is born. People are so into the pink/blue divide that they rarely think to buy anything gender neutral that could possibly be used for the next baby as well, let alone of the u/s turns out to be wrong.

Congratulations on a healthy baby, but oh my how scary afterward.

Your gall bladder surgery should be a breeze. I had once 4.5 months PP, and I was up and around the same afternoon (with the help of Percocet). Of course, I couldn't pick up my daughter, but I could hold her while sitting.
