My sister had a baby on December 18th, 2010. Her husband was fired from his job less than a week later. Consequently, they lost their health insurance. Thank you very, very much. I will do that first thing in the morning. I'm glad there's something, even if it's hidden. I'll definitely do all I can to find something. This is a relief.

Her OB treated her for the last time last week I believe. She was only eligible for one more follow up. Thankfully there's something for uninsured children in NH, Healthy Kids, so her daughter is covered.

Thanks again for your help and kind words.

Lots of places have pro-rated mental health services for under/uninsured people. She can always try calling her former or current doctors office and ask for some suggestions. As for the unemployment thing, it's frustrating. DH was unemployed from mid-September through early January and we are still waiting for a check...

I dont know where in NH she lives.. but I live in Southern NH. I have a Human Services degree and have a lot of info on local agencies. Those are the big ones though. Good luck to your sister!

tell her to apply again without mentioning the unemployment, hes not getting it yet so there is no reason to mention it. if later on he does get it they can always make a change to their case.

^^^ This. You have 10 days to tell them of changes to the case. So once he does get a check, tell them.

Being Canadian as well, I have no advice either. Just wanted to say how sorry I am for your sister's situation. :(
