I used EVP, sex and nipple stimulation. Once my body was ready the sex and nipple stim really got things going. I had been in prodormal labor for 3 weeks and was absolutely miserable.

oh you poor thing! I've heard different ways to do the nipple stimulation... how did you do it? If you don't mind me asking... How was your labor?

I did it with my dbl breast pump. I only did about 20 minutes a night for a few nights. My labor was great. It was number 3. My water broke at 1:20am contractions kicked in about 4am and I went to the birth center at 6:40am. The baby was born at 9:52am. I used some hypnobirthing techniques and labored in the tub at the birth center. Pushing lasted about 12 minutes.

I used EPO from 36 weeks onward in increasing oral dosages, walking, sex, and RRT for a few weeks before. I would absolutely not do castor oil unless you are under the watchful eye of a experienced midwife and at least 41-42 weeks.

At this point you are 3-5 weeks from baby so really no rush at all.

Sex is for sure what did it for me and the EPO really helped soften my cervix and I think that the RRL tea helped with pushing.

:)

Oh I know I have PLENTY of time for more cooking. I was just reading all this stuff from a message board and was curious about you all too. I'm on baby #4 so I know this could be a while. I have, however, been drinking Raspberry Leaf Tea as of last week to help tone my uterus, as my other babies were difficult to get out. And I'm not about to do the castor oil only because I've heard horrible stories and it just scares me. But that's just my opinion.

God I wish sex were an option, LOL hubby's not all that into it atm. ;)

UGH I'm rediculously jealous. Not to get too personal, but I know that the sperm helps soften and ripen your cervix, and that a womans orgasm helps to kick start contractions. Was it both that got your baby on it's way? Even when I force him to do it... lol, I can't seem to have an O, so just wondering. Sorry if way TMI!

I did walking, sex, and RRL tea. I think the tea really helps, my second labor was so much shorter than the first, and I only had the tea with the second pregnancy. I'm using it now too, and hoping something will happen soon. I still have 2.5 weeks to go and I'm very impatient lol.

I'm trying SO HARD to be patient. I know baby will come in his own time though. I think the tea and walking and sex are great ways to help! Good luck this time around!

I drank raspberry leaf tea sporadically in my last pregnancy, and have been drinking one cup/trimester/day this pregnancy. I walked and had sex regularly towards the end of my last pregnancy, but not really for the purpose of inducing labor. Had my daughter at 41w2d. I did have acupressure points stimulated during my weekly massages, but only after I had already passed my due date.

This time I plan to do EPO and walk a lot to promote good positioning of baby. I guess I can plan on nipple stimulation too, since I expect my daughter will still be nursing by the time this baby is ready to be born.

I did a lot of walking in the begining only because I loved to exercise, but had to stop due to contractions and I was only in my second trimester. I'm going to start walking again though. Baby keeps popping in and out of my pelvis and I'd like him to stay put and get ready! I've definitly been drinking the tea religiously and was thinking of getting EPO capsules so my body isn't as stubborn as it was the last 3 times.

Yeah, I had a pretty difficult and long labor last time, so I'm more into doing preparatory stuff this time. I'm fine with babe staying put as long as need be, but it'd be nice for labor to go a little more quickly whenever it does start!

Walking stairs and sitting/bouncing on an exercise ball can help with positioning too.

Sorry, I meant I want baby to stay engaged and get the heck off my hip bones! LOL. Didn't explain myself well, there. I hear you, I'm all for getting labor to go as quick as possible once it starts. My first was 36 hours, second was almost 30 hours, and third was 6 hours or so. I know the third wasn't long-long, but it was still difficult getting him out. I hope you have a smooth labor!

For my second, I did it all. Started at around 39 weeks and did everything from EPO to nipple stimulation to sex. I even tried less "scientific" things like spicy foods, a particular eggplant parmesan recipe, and bumpy car rides. Nothing worked. She came on her own at 40w 3d. It was a fast labor, though! ;)

I hunted down that eggplant recipe too... lol. Sounds like you were prepped well! Do you know what it is in the eggplant parmesan recipe that supposedly does the trick?

I have no idea. Maybe the certain herbs in it. It was labor intensive to make and didn't work but it was yummy anyway!
