6wks & possible miscarriage?

Mar 01, 2010 17:30

So I was bleeding this morning (no cramps though) and I headed to the OB GYN clinic on base and saw a doctor there who gave me an inter-vaginal ultrasound (I'm 6 weeks). She said that because my hormone levels are high (56,000 she said) than they should see a heartbeat.. but there was nothing she could definitively see ( Read more... )

hcg, bleeding - vaginal, blighted ovum, threatened miscarriage/abortion

She could have said "chemical" pregnancy.

I don't know if that applies since you'd be 6 weeks along, but it's probably what she said.

I hope the best for you!! Stay positive.

Nah, she definitely didn't say chemical pregnancy. She said it was to do with the placenta because we can actually SEE something embedded in my uterus, but it might not be a fetus.

I know you said it started with an "a" but what you described sounds like blighted ovum. She could have used the word "abnormality".

Nah, that's not what she said either. I am so sure it began with an "a".

Molar pregnancy?

I have you in my thoughts... and it's quite possible you will go back and see a heartbeat. It literally is not visible on u/s one day and there the next at this point. Don't lose hope!

((hugs))

Try not to freak out. Stress will only make things worse for the baby and for you. Like the doctor said, it might just be too little to see right now :) I had bleeding at 6-7 wks and my hubby and I flipped out too. It took awhile but they eventually found a little heart beat. There's a lot of room in there now and the baby is so tiny. Keeping you in our prayers! <3

I know how hard it is to be positive but try. I had bleeding at 6 weeks too, and had a vaginal ultrasound the next day, mine did have a heartbeat but then a girl in my due date community had one without a heartbeat but ended up being fine. As much as we like to think it's an exact science that we can track to the day, it isn't, otherwise babies would always be done on their due dates.

Fingers crossed for you and lots of hugs. I know how completely terrifying it is.
