-First, I wanted to post a picture of the daddy diaper bag I made my husband, I screen printed the skunk image and name "London" down the side and sewed the bag together with the front pockets perfectly fitting diapers and a bottle. It didn't come out looking like I'd hoped but my husband assures me he likes it...( ---Picture--- )

blarg at scheduled c-sections! I am almost 30 weeks pregnant for the second time and the thing that causes me more pain that anything else is my section scar (I am having twins and measuring about full term). I wish women knew the wide variety of pains and inconveniences that a section causes, that are TYPICAL ( ... )

Luckily my husband has the week scheduled off work as well as his family will be visiting to help out for a week after i'm out of the hospital so I dont have to worry too much. Yea i plan to keep him in the room with me most the time but I didn't know if I like pressed a button to have him fed or what lol..

I'll try to drink water more now, I haven't been drinking much of anything and when I do its a little juice.

ugh, I tried to drink some orange juice the other day and it gave me killer heart burn (yay pregnancy!! :P)

But seriously, I had trouble functioning for a few months after the surgery, and continued to have sensitivity for almost a year. Now with my current pregnancy it's hellish. I just imagine having a vaginal birth that hurts for half a day is a lot easier than being sliced open and then hurting for months, and every other time you get pregnant, plus risking the life of your future kids because of uterine rupture, and then having your organs fall into your pelvic cavity when you reach about 50-60 :D

All those lovely side effects that the doc didn't make perfectly clear to me when he asked if I wanted to have a c-section in the hospital >:(

I actually elected a cesarean, for several reasons, with my doctor continued to persuade me toward vaginal delivery and explained all the risks and cons of surgery and I spent many hours studying them myself before asking for one. Also we don't want any more kids and if we decide we will adopt like planned so I've already taking into account the risk toward future children. :/

sorry you weren't able to have the birth experience you wanted :(

the hospital will have diapers and formula for you. bring wipes..they may not provide that. depending on how well you are recovering you may do more baby tending then not. BUT DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP. if it all goes well you wont be in there more then 3 days or so. my sister had two c sections and by the end of the first day she was changing diapers and feeding baby and getting to walk around a bit.

nice bag! and aww a new year's eve baby! what a wonderful way to start the new year!

yea Im hoping i'm one of the lucky ones and have speedy recovery and feel great the next day. I have so many issues like SPD and stuff that I feel like even with the pain of recovery I'll feel better than in pregnancy because of the decrease in pelvic pain.

yup last baby of this year! haha great way to start the new year completely compared to last new years when I was working and someone died!

What a cute diaper bag. Husband's pretty cute, too! ( -;

Well, I didn't have a c-section per se (ectopic pregnancy resulting in surgery), but I wasn't even allowed out of bed for a day or two. My uterus was A-OK and I STILL couldn't climb stairs more than once-twice a day or pick up my cat without help.

I don't know if all hospitals do this, but mine had compression wraps for your pelvis that made me feel SO much better. They said they used them for sections, too, and it took the edge off the my-guts-are-popping-out-when-I-sneeze feeling. Good luck, and wishing you a healthy baby and speedy recovery!

The best peice of advice EVER given to me, was from my Mum - who also had a c-section. She told me, get up and try and walk about AS SOON AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN - this will help with your recovery and make it a lot easier for you to move about sooner. If you don't, you'll stiffen up, and recovery will take longer.

Also, laying down is bad for your lungs.

if you cannot get up due to the epi/spinal - bring balloons with you and use them to help your lungs - blow them up and then let the deflate do this over and over again in recovery! My SO's mother told me about how she did this after her second section years ago after she was devastated about being separated from her first baby (my SO). Her family dr told her to do this when her 2nd section was scheduled (she had CPD hence the scheduled section) as they would not allow moms to have babies with them until they "passed" tests and he told her that this would help get her back up sooner and it did - she tells everyone this that has to get a section/packs a hospital bag just in case!
