Getting to hear the little flutter we only saw before.

Today we get to hear the heartbeat! I'm so excited! Our 7 week ultrasound was proof that the baby was there, but it's a little nerve wracking when you really have no symptoms, other than being tired, having to wait 7 more weeks to hear the heartbeat. I really can't believe it's already been 14 weeks ( Read more... )

The babys heart rate thing was never right for me. My kids (this is my 4th) heartrate have always been super high. I have 2 girls, one boy and one boy on the way. =)

There are so many "predictors" but of course, none of them are accurate. My FH is CONVINCED it's a girl...but I think it's a boy. I wonder who will be RIGHT! We are both really competitive, so it will be fun to see who "wins"!

The cyst is called the corpus luteum. It's the (now empty) sac that your egg came out of on your ovary. Before your baby actually implants and forms a placenta, the corpus luteum produces progesterone to get your uterus ready to support a placenta. After the placenta forms, the corpus luteum usually shrinks away, and the placenta takes over the production of progesterone...

I was asked if the one on my left ovary was causing any discomfort when I had a dating ultrasound at around 9 weeks...

My understanding about the heart rate tale is over 150=girl and under 150=boy, and it becomes more "accurate" later in the pregnancy and as you go towards the extremes of high or low. But, its is just that: an old wives' tale. It's got a 50/50 chance of being correct...

Ahhh, interesting about the cyst. I really only notice the pain when I move a certain way. The WORST it got was when I was laying on my side and my FH was making me laugh, and OMG, worst shooting pain EVER...the more I laughed, the worse it was, but I couldn't stop laughing. It was horrible! Kind like "hahahha OOOH ow!! hahhahahah ooouuuuccch!!!" lol

Under 140 means boy and over it means girl I believe. Wasn't true for most people I know though.

Good luck!

Back when I was a bean in my mom, the ultrasounds weren't good enough to read the baby's sex (and she was an ultrasound tech!), so they went off of heartbeat only. I was "Andrew" until I was born. :)

I've heard of that, but I thought that would be a more dull ache than a sharp shooting pain on one side, but I could be wrong!

Noooo, RLP is definitely a sharp shooting pain most of the time for me!
