Getting to hear the little flutter we only saw before.

Today we get to hear the heartbeat! I'm so excited! Our 7 week ultrasound was proof that the baby was there, but it's a little nerve wracking when you really have no symptoms, other than being tired, having to wait 7 more weeks to hear the heartbeat. I really can't believe it's already been 14 weeks.

I want to ask my doctor about a sharp pain I keep getting in my lower right abdomen. I'm concerned since she said she saw a cyst on my right ovary from the u/s..and I'm wondering if that has something to do with the pain I feel on that side sometimes. She didn't seem too worried about it when she mentioned it before. She said something about the cyst acting as the placenta in the early stages of the baby's development and that it would go away on it's own as the placenta developed. Anyone ever heard of this before?

Anyway, isn't there some hoo-ha about a baby's heart rate possibly being a way to determine the sex? Just curious! I don't put much into those old wives' tales, but it's fun to think about!

old wives' tales, heartbeat, cysts
