Welcome! I am close to your due date, 9 weeks exactly today and I am due June 21st! :) Congrats.

I too, have a 5 year old step daughter but I am pregnant with my first. :) I am excited to have my own child now instead of being a step. :)

Wow! congratulations to you! My step-son is the 7 year old, and my step daughter is 4.
I am so excited about having my own child as well...my step-children are wonderful, but it is so different to know that I am having my very own baby on the way as well.
I am pretty fortunate, since both the kids are very excited about my pregnancy, my step-son wants a brother, and my step-daughter wants a sister...I know my step-daughter is a jealous one...she gets jealous if I spend too much time with her brother, so I am trying to go over some positive sibling lessons with her now while it's still early on in my pregnancy.
Well, good luck to you!

My step daughter is SOOOOO jealous!! Of everything! Of me, my animals, friends we have over, anyone that is getting attention makes her go bonkers! :) She is excited so far too but I can see her attitude starting to change slowly but surely. Luckily her father and I are aware of this and starting to go over some sibling lessons with her too. :)

Oh my yes..the jealousy years...hehe I'm also very fortunate since her father is very good at handling the jealousy issues both the kids have, though my step-son is very understanding about everything and realizing that sometimes the younger kids need more attention.
I don't know if youre at all worried about this issue, but I know I am...I'm worried that once I have my baby, that my step-kids might resent me or the baby, because they might feel like I love the new baby more since it is my own flesh and blood. I've been going crazy with worry over this...

Congratulations! If you keep yourself healthy and fit, it is very likely you will have a healthy pregnancy and birth.

Thank you! ive been trying my best to get out and walk everyday (though NY winters make that a little hard...lol) and I signed up with some state help like WIC so that I can make sure I get a balanced diet with the food costs so high these days. I am lucky in the fact that since I see a nutritionist for my diabetes, that she is able to help me work on what is the best diet for me and the baby. ^_^

My friend has had numerous miscarriages because she didn't know she was diabetic AND had high blood pressure. This past year she found out and when she got pregnant (she had just found out basically) she got those things under control and now has a very very healthy little girl.
Good luck!!
