First, the turtle Donatello, and now the turtle called...?

The other one was Raphael. Donatello's the one I inherited, though.

Had they the same owner?

Not that I'm aware of. The one was friends with my former roommate's former roommate, though, and the other was his pet.

Sorry the roommate thing didn't pan out. Do you need anything, Rudy?

The dishes are as yet unwashed, but my mom would probably kill me if she found out I outsourced that job.

I don't think most kids have to do their own dishes. I'm sure your mom would forgive you.

I'm not most kids.

Boots has left the City? That's a shame. Are you all right on your own, considering the ticking? I hear a pet tends to keep it down, but I haven't tired it, myself.

He disappeared a couple days ago, and his picture's up in the Hall. Between the turtle, my radio, and the Network, I'm doing okay.

Sure, if the turtle actually keeps the ticking away. It doesn't bother me, but I seem to have collected a roommate anyway.

As for the turtle issue, there was a popular American cartoon in the late 1980s that featured turtles- they were named after Italian Renaissance artists. I never did figure out why that was, but I imagine that's where the name for your turtle came from.

It does an okay job. Tea with Reinette helps a lot, too.

Oh. So I missed it by a few years. Guess I'll have that to look forward to when I get back. Was it any good?

You got a turtle? Penny got a lot of animals, too. I wonder- When'd you get it?

And what's summer vacation?

I inherited it from my former roommate. He left a few days ago.

It is nothing short of a tragedy that there are people who have not heard of summer vacation.

Oh, well that makes sense.

It is? Well, what is it?

It's the vacation you get when school lets out for the summer. Otherwise known as the brief respite between prison terms.
