...and at the risk of being super obnoxious *meep* i just wanted to mention that my S/H friend and I have been calling them "vintage fandoms", not geriatric... I think K/S is timeless and will always have the power to draw in new fans. ;-)
hmm, the retitling isn't working on my end. oh well.
The funny/crochety idea is cute, but the problem is that for those of us who ARE young, we feel VERY, very intimidated by the fact that some of you have been in fandom since before we were born. moondroplette and I were actually thinking of starting a club for "Gen Y'ers in Vintage Slash Fandoms", because she's so S/H obsessed and I'm so into K/S, but we didn't really know what to do with it so we never did.
Anyway--we don't want to get off the lawn; we want to stay and play. And write ten-page stories ;-D and do everything we can to ensure that K/S, S/H, N/I, etc, never, ever die.
I'll see what I can do when I get home. I'll also try to get a good community icon going.
(Just to make you feel too young: I was born during ST's first run. Same night "Journey to Babel" aired in fact. Mom watched ST and then went to the hospital)
Here it is. It's short and non-smutty, but I hope to do better for Perry and Paul this time. *g* Such a fun show with beautiful men and so little fanfic for it. When I googled it last year, there was literally one slash fic (and unrequited! *pout*) out there.
Hiya -- seems like both my currently active fandoms are pre-1996 (Toy Soldiers and Good Omens, both from 1990-1991), so I figured it was worth a shot. :)
Sherlock Holmes; TOS; TNG; DS9 (coincidentally, only the first three seasons--1993-96); Nancy Drew (?!); I'd love to play with Columbo, but haven't yet; and I've been known to whore around fandoms in general depending on the scenario.
I won't sign up this wave due to my internetlessness Thurs-Mon, but I do hope that there will be a round II.

I love reading Man from UNCLE N/I, but I've only written in that fandom as far as two minor characters that have nothing to do with N/I.
That's... pretty much all I do. And I knit like a madwoman.

It only cuts you short of 3 days writing time.
