  • Tim. My boyfriend is in Germany visiting friends for three weeks. He sounds like he is having a fantastic time. I love getting his emails; he's been learning German, and his (english) grammar is getting progressively worse. Here's an example from his latest email: "I have to invite the Eva and Kristina now" I am finding these errors especially ( Read more... )

1. Your icon is made of win. <-- And in light of your first point, I don't want to even think of how many things are wrong with that statement.

2. Three weeks, huh? When did he leave? I think your little example of his email there is amusing.

3. Your classes sound interesting! Not sure about Ancient Greek, but then I've always been more partial to Japanese

4. Little sister?

1. Thanks! I like it too!

2. He left on the 25th., he gets back on the 15th. *sigh*

3. They are interesting. I am quite enjoying this term. It's midterms already though; can you believe it!!!

4. I think you just missed her at my birthday party. Unofficial little sister. Her dad and my dad were roommates in university and are still best friends. Our mothers are good friends too. My brother is at their house right now studying physics with D, H's brother. As a result, H and I really have grown up together, and we might as well be sisters.

Lol - ah, mother-tongue-breakdown...I've experienced that one...not to a great degree, mind you, but...(reminisces about grade Seven French camp...*sigh* it wasn't that good).

Did you know that Ron Sexsmith and Feist worte Brandy Alexander together, so he has a version of it too? Hers is better, but...

What you feel about Ancient Greek, I pretty much feel about music theory. Ouch!

Say hi to H from me...annnnddddd..... my poli-sci articles just finished printing, so OFF to the library for me! Yay...

I did NOT know Ron Sexsmith wrote it with Feist! Nor did I know he had a version of it. I am totally going to go look it up now.

Good luck with your music theory! *hugs*

Also, no mail yet. *cries* I will keep my eye out though! I can't wait!

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! I just saw Ron Sexsmith in concert last Thursday, and his *LIVE* version of Brandy Alexander significantly tops out over Feist's *studio* version. That being said, I prefer her studio version to his studio version, which has really weird Cuban horns, I think. But it's totally his melody and just her lyrics. I don't know that I'm experiencing any weird Chinese language effects -- unless I start saying things like, Today, I hen busy. That is what book, question particle? (This is how I think when I'm writing in Chinese. Speaking of which, I'd best get to lab.) Glad you liked the macaroons! I made brownies yesterday, too, and they were fantastic, and the class loved them -- weird, especially since they were soy, gluten, dairy, egg, and refined sugar free. :) I'd love to come to your class, except I have psychometrics (ah, math. joy.) during that time.

The concert must have been awesome; you'll have to tell me about it! Did he do Dragonfly on Bay Street? I think that's the only song of his that I know...

Brownies! Your backing is *always* great Kim! Of course your class liked them!
