Ice Storm 2011

Wow, those are great snapshots! Unlike most of the US & Canada we just have rain and 45 degrees. Your world looks so magical! Mine just looks muddy :D

I remember your storm of '08. Just reading about it made me cold!

I've often contemplated moving to the Northwestern Coast - I loved visiting Seattle. Yours might be muddy, but I guarantee you that it is far more pleasant to be muddy than encased in ice!

Ice is often very pretty - but extremely dangerous. The worst ice storm IMO was the 1998 one that hit Canada .

Yikes! I remember hearing about that one as a comparison to 2008, though the 1998 storm had tons more ice.

I had to bite back the laughter, though, at people here who stocked up on frozen foods in case the power went out.

Great pix!!

Every day here is about 38 degrees and slightly overcast. Our snow is melting away. After last winter - this seems uneventful.

Egads!! I might have just cursed myself....

Thanks...although, rub it in, won't you? We just got an additional four inches of snow dumped on us this morning. Wouldn't be so bad if Illinois did a halfway decent job plowing its roads.

We could really use the snow (or rain). Its been record droughts around here - I think we are something like 11 inches low from this time last year.
