8th Lash (voice)

Vile. To think it would prey on children.

[lifts his voice]

Everyone:

I've completed my first dozen silver knives with Dean's supervision. Come for them at the Forge, or I can bring them to you myself. In light of this 'Slender Man' peril I would see us all armed and ready, especially the younger ones.

Outside of that, best not deviate from the usual ( Read more... )

Knives aren't really my style, but if this really is that creeper, I'll take anything we can get. A bit of a charge won't hurt it any, either.

I don't doubt that. You clearly have this... power at your command. I'd see it used against this creature.

It'll be nice to let loose on something, anyway. And the sooner we get rid of this thing, the better.

Then if you reach this beast before I do... teach it a lesson it won't soon forget.

What monster doesn't go after the smallest and weakest, anyway?

...But I'm not afraid of threats against kids. The Crimson King's threatened to take the 'Younglings' away before, and we all stood up against that then.

What's so special about silver knives, anyway? I've got a sword and magic and a bow.

The warriors who do it for sport, mayhap. [thoughtful lightest of shrugs] Even monsters have them.

Hold onto that courage. If its ilk was beaten before, it can be beaten again.

On my world, and a few others here, silver has mystic properties against the unnatural. Distributing such arms gives even the untrained a measure of fighting chance against them.

That twiggy thing on the board doesn't look like much of a warrior.

...Hm. Okay then. I'll...pick one up, and one for Namine too, I guess?

S'truth. But I suppose we'll find out sooner or later.

By all means. With priority for the unarmed, there should be enough for all.

Stay armed...

You happen to know how I can get a hold of a gun?

Come by the Forge, sir. Dean or Matt may have something to loan.

I'd appreciate it, son. ...The Forge? Where's that by?

Just northwest of the School, 'tis the building with the green door. I'll let them know you're coming.

A dozen silver knives? Already? That's great. Lets make sure everyone gets one, or at least every pair of kid/adult gets one?

poweroflegend March 31 2010, 05:18:18 UTC
I did have plenty of time on hand.

Absolutely. This dozen should cover those in need of them.

Okay, good. And I get that most people here are used to swords or stuff, so the knives will be handled properly?

Aye. 'Tis why I settled for knives rather than axes. Easier to mass produce and wield with less training.

Something like that won't ever happen again, now that I don't have to hide my power.

...The matter of getting everything back is another story, Trevor. It's something I need to talk to you about.

[Despite what he said about doing what needed to be done, Trevor's guilt meant he could barely approach Ryu even after he came back. That's changed now, and he figuratively comes running.]

Of course, Ryu. Anything. How can I help?

Delta told me that people have started finding Chrysm. I think he found one of them. It has a lot of magical properties to it, but from what I can gather, it separated from my body after... [He doesn't bother to finish the sentence. Despite many brushes with death before, the whole thing still creeps him out, having finally experienced it.]

I've already found and assembled one of the stones that gave me my power, but the rest look like they're broken apart across the city. I need to find them, they shouldn't be in human hands, not in this amount. Smaller Chrysm could power machines, but... I can't afford to lose these.

I see... if you mean to enlist my aid in gathering these stones, you shall have it. An outbreak of uncontrolled power here would be disastrous.
