The use of textures on a lot of these seems a bit distracting. Six especially, with Allens hair having turned green and his face being all... icky. I'm not really sure what you were trying to accomplish in five, but the inversion is kinda not working... The texture work well on some of them, though, like two and eight, which are lovely!

I agree with the other anons that there's too much going in some of the icons. 2 and 8 are pretty though. For the rest, maybe tone it down a little? Icons 3 and 4 especially.

i like them. there is something alluring about these icons. very edgy and unique. i think the last icon is very well done, it's soft, the placement are perfect, but it does not really deters from your style. the third one is also lovely. the textures doesn't distracts, it actually compliments, which is a terribly hard thing to do. i love how your icons are like little pieces of artwork. knowing that trying to find suitable textures and also blending them into the icon is not a piece of cake.

the texture in the 4th icon is lovely, but i think the colouring needs some tweaking so the icon will be polished and perfect. i like 5. it shows a good contrast of black and white.

I've always admired your work and some of these icons really shine out to me in especially the last one and I adore the first two.

However, I agree on the points where some of your texture use (although sometimes very creative) is a little dodgey. A few times it comes out a little on the messy side; the Allen icon is kind of what I'm talking about.

But that's really your style! More or less, that's what I appreciate about you as an icon maker - you're not afraid to try something rather than doing the same thing over and over again. Keep rockin' it, babe. ♥

I love how the second one came out (nitpick: the yellow light on Maya's sleeve, however, I could do without--looks a little too sickly, try to warm it up a bit). The sixth one, however, looks a little too...green? And the last one, while the textures used in the small strip with Edgeworth look good, it makes the other cloud texture look really out of place, and that red brush/texture seem slapped on at the last minute. Try using textures that consistently flow with the rest of the icon.

These are all just so hot. ♥ I don't think you need to change anything, honestly! Your style is experimental and unique all the way, and I like it like that. :D brb while I kneel down and worship you.

pffft, there is no such thing as too busy. Seriously, I think you got some crazy style and don't change it. I love your icons are completely different from any other icons I have seen.
Your coloring never follows the "current trend" and it's so refreshing to see. ♥

Psssh, whatever the anons say, I think your heavy use of textures and typography is just your style. To me, it feels like each of your icons is a work of art on a 100x100 canvas, and the way you arrange everything is just awesome. My only complaint is that you don't post new icons nearly enough. :P

(Oh god, LJ's anonymous spambot checker is driving me up the wall, so you get logged in comment.)

Some of your icons seem too heavy in texture for my tastes, but I think that's part of how your style is very experimental. I really wish I was as brave as you are with icons, because a lot of times you throw together things that I wouldn't think could work, and yet, they do. Whenever you post I have to go look, because I just have to see what you've done now.

I guess as far as crit, the main thing I ever notice is that sometimes your sharpening and contrast seem a little too high.

I don't really think too busy is entirely the problem but at times I find that the colour of the texture seems to warp the colour of the base image and in some of these icons it makes them look a bit messy.

I think maybe be careful with how you mix the light textures and maybe experiment with colouring a bit more? I feel almost like you're relying on the textures to create interest when with a lot of images it's enough to let the actual art stand out.

Your icons are probably the most original I've seen. I can always identify that you made them, which is a good thing imo. Your use of textures are great! Sometimes your icons can seem a bit overcrowded (icon #6), but then others such as #8 look just marvelous.
