A Cornwall Hiking Holiday (Part 1, the touristic one)

The first part  of this posting will be a very normal touristic description of a holiday. The second part (in a few days) will be one with very big slashy Pros goggles!

The last time I had been to GB (London) I was 17 years old - and that's really a long time ago ;-).

Now I have been to Cornwall hiking for about 12 days and it was great! If you want ( Read more... )

These are gorgeous and it looks as though you had a really relaxing break. I particularly liked the 'lying lady'! Thanks so much for posting these.

The lying lady was very impressive! I like the playful use of the local materials and the artist's creativity.

A relaxing break it was. And let's call it... fulfilling regarding the cream teas :D

Lovely photos. Just one problem, that pigeon is an adult herring gull!

Sunray told me too *sigh*. I'm not really a fan of making a complete fool out of myself, so thanks for your comment ;-), I changed it at once.

Oh I just loved these!! I feel like I've actually been there now.

I like to see details that aren't just the usual tourist shots. They tell you so much about the place.

It's interesting what makes an impression on different people too. Eg. the photo of Daphne du Maurier's digs made me recall how red, in the grey atmosphere of England, glows like nowwhere else on earth (that I know of).

Thanks for sharing. :D

I am glad the area comes a bit alive for you with my posting. I don't know if the english weather is grey so often, but we had sunshine too. It wasn't much the day we visited the Jamaica Inn, so it is really a big contrast to the red phone booth.

I read Daphne du Maurier's book "Jamaica Inn" several years ago, and I didn't know about the place back then. I think I have to read it once again ;-)

Now, you've got me interested in the du Maurier story!

I meant to say, earlier, what a great foliage/flower photo that is from The Lost Gardens of Heligan. (..and no grey in sight)! :D

The first pic of the Lost Gardens - the one with dark and light green and white and a blue sky - I chose it as a background for my screen. I love the combination of the colours!
