As many a politician has reminded us, the only poll that matters is the one that they take on election day. Still, Republican candidate Mitt Romney must be feeling encouraged by what he saw in yesterday and today's poll numbers. For example, today these results were released:

I confess to one bias: I want it to be close. It's no fun watching on election night if it's a landslide for either candidate.

lol the media and the pundits agree with you. They want and will create a close race.

I get the impression that the media (other than Fox or MSNBC) build up and put down candidates in order to manipulate publicity and public opinion in order to make it a closer race because that's what builds up their audiences and sells advertising.
