I apologize to the writer for saying this, but I'm rather tired of these kinds of stories. There is not one ounce of originality, and the stories are horribly predictable. I also find myself asking what the point of these stories are beyond turning Harry into ones personal self-insert. Do writer's think this is a better version then the original story, or that they're fixing the original canon?

They don't, and the changes are so painful I'm left wondering if the writer is really a fan of the series. Shouldn't someone whose read the books or even read the series know there isn't such thing as magic cores in the series? Doesn't this mean the writers are guilty of reading fanfiction, and being fans of fanfiction for the series rather then the actual series itself? Doesn't this rather defeat the purpose of writing fanfiction?

P.S. And no... it's not an AU.

What I'll never understand about these fics is the fact that the goblins are always involved in Harry unlocking his powers. You'd think someone at Saint Mungo's would be able to handle that.

The reason you've never seen a good story with "magic cores" is that they don't bring anything to the story. They only serve to quantify something so they can tell us just how much power Harry gets without effort.

This is one of the most annoying tropes in Potter fanfiction and I'm so tired of it
