I feel the argument put forth by the Sister Wives is a valid argument, and to say otherwise means the argument put forth for gay marriage isn't valid because they're using the same arguments.

As for the fanfic...

The writer honestly might as well be writing original work. I don't see why writer's think this is all right. It's like taking the toys in another kids sandbox and mutilating them beyond recognition. It's an old analogy, but it still works.

There are good fanfic challenges out there, but most of them really boil down to "I have an idea for a fanfic, but am too lazy to write it myself." I looked at the Paladeus challenges and they most certainly fall under the latter. It's painfully obvious as every single one of them* demands that the fic be H/Hr or H/Hr/L, not to mention far more restrictions than a proper challenge should have.

* The only exception is a challenge he didn't write
