I feel like she's named after Elizabeth Bennett. It would explain the stilted writing and the "whilst"s.

I honestly hadn't caught that one. I knew why I didn't buy the clumsy bit, but now I know why I didn't buy the "not as smart as my sister" bit either. Said character wouldn't use the word "whilst" if she really was "not as smart as Hermione".

She comes off as an obnoxious brat truth be told whose taken the attitude of the whole world is against me because I'm so poor and pitiful. And yet the writer of the Twilight fanfic a few entries from now did it so much better and realistically, but then they mostly made it clear that Bella's view point of the world is skewed, or at least we think.
