The link of the day has more problems than it's tone.

Pottersues was possibly trying to be nice about the link of the day. It certainly is a piece of work.

It's almost like someone set themselves a challenge to see how judgmental, condescending, sexist and homophobic they could be in one rant.

Why is this writer claiming to be a rare pairing hunter when she's only been in fandom for less then half a year? I'm not even sure if she understands what a rare pairing constitutes. A rare pairing is a pairing that has a small following, not a pairing you make up on a whim. All of her pairings are focused around Sakura.

The link of the day is quite something. It seems to me that whoever wrote it has a very large ego and thinks that they are better than everybody else. It's quite similar to how a bully parades themselves, to be perfectly honest ( ... )

I think the major thing you need to know is that Sakura ended up marrying someone with psychopathic tendencies in canon. (Sasuke) He did not however start out with the psychopathic tendencies like Voldemort did.

Technically that is the point of a crossover, not to make up whatever pairing the person wants.

The writer isn't incorrect in saying that their pairing is rare because it is almost impossible to find a crossover pairing that isn't a rare!pair. They don't count for this very reason and count more towards making up a random pairing.

I think she's more confused about what it means to be a rare!pairing writer. It's not about slapping random characters together and it's really not something to brag about like she is doing. I mean... she's calling herself a "rare pairing hunter", asking her readers for pairings when she should be the one doing the leg work and even thinking there is a reason to warn people that her story has a rare pairing.

Thank you for explaining more about the Naruto character. I don't really understand the anime or anything regarding the characters... yet they are easily recognisable (in name) if they are written in a fanfic crossover.

I don't really understand the story though. Is Sakura in canon in this story?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sakura was the type of character who always looked for ways to become stronger. She's being picked because she's the only one who can turn chakra into magic... which makes no sense at all. There should be others who can do that as well, not some unique ability. Particularly if she is a citizen. Take this away and she is the least likely canidate. There is also the fact ninjas typically work in teams.
