Sigh. It might have been a fun idea to infer the books were written by a crazy witch. One could change some things from canon and make a fun story. But, sadly, the author just uses it as a copout to bring the dead back. So many things could have been done with it too. Say, if Snape lived, but was left with severe disabilities that changed him personally. Or Dumbledore didn't die in year 6 and was slowly consumed by the curse on his hand to the horror of all around him.
I agree that it is a major cop out. It amounts pretty much to a "fix-it fic" sadly. And then her OC ends up dominating the entire storyline despite the fact she's not that important of a character except in the Suethor's mind.
Well, this suethor is definitely in denial about the characters that died at the Battle of Hogwarts. Way to cheapen the message and impact of their deaths in the first place.
Plus, if they didn't die then who did? Death occurs in war. Actually, with the Bleach series the only reason not one of the good guys died during the Winter War is because healing is far more advanced in said universe then in Harry Potter.
I hate Deathly Hallows. I hate that book. I hate what it did with the characters. I hate what it did to magic.I hate the plot.
BUT if I'm going to do the dimension jump thing, I'm going to either include the whole bloody thing as canon, or change the point of divergeance. This is just sloppy. And all it does is retcon a few deaths.
That would be an insanely severe punishment for casting a spell in the hallways (it's usually a single detention and maybe 5-10 points), but she wasn't even at school when this happened!
I also hate when people have the Harry Potter books exist within the Harry Potter world. The Ministry would never allow that, as it would shatter the Statute of Secrecy. Not to mention that no one would write a biography in that style. This gets even worse, because how on earth could a "half-mad" witch know all these things about Harry?
