For the forth day of Waverly week we have another fanfic written by Im a Skyscraper. As I've said, she's got a lot of crossovers for Harry Potter and Wizards of Waverly Place. This fanfic isn't just a crossover between these two fandoms, this is a crossover with the Ramona series. The reason... Selena Gomez plays both Alex and Beezus.

This is getting out of hand. Now there are two of them! We should not have made this bargain

I think it has to do with Wizards of Waverly Place being a "kiddie fandom", meaning that the target audience is children, preteens or young teens and the fandom isn't expected to appeal much to the older generation.

I was actually just referencing The Phantom Menace.

Which, despite my desperate, feral love for Liam Neeson, even his amazingness could not save that sorry piece of crap.

What? Why? How does any of this make sense?
(And I'm pretty sure the Weasley kids were allowed to leave Hogwarts when Arthur was attack in OotP.)
And how can they just take Alex of out Hogwarts without Dumbledore at least trying to do something?

Actually, I'm beginning to think that maybe we're expecting too much. Sure, it doesn't make sense, but it was written by a skyscraper. Perhaps we should just be satisfied that a multistorey building has written anything at all, nevermind that it doesn't follow any kind of logic.

Hm, as someone who's really into buildings etc., I'm not sure I can accept that explanation.

Yes. I must say most of my best friends are buildings, and it looks like an unfair, offensive rationalization.

I don't understand!!!

FYI I loooooved the Ramona books when I was a kid. I don't think the movie did them justice, and this fic certainly doesn't!

Personally, I liked the Ramona movie. I'll admit it barely touched upon what the series had to offer though. Maybe that is why Ramona's characterization is so off. It would not surprise me if the Suethor hasn't even read the books but only seen the movie...

oh don't get me wrong, I did like the movie...but it wasn't quite 'ramona' enough for me :P and Selena Gomez was nothing like the Beezus I imagined : (

I wonder how some of the parents would have reacted if it had more "Ramona" in it. I guess the best way to put it is some parents are over protective. As for Selena Gomez playing the role, I am not sure who else they could have gotten to play her as there aren't very many other Hispanic actresses around that age range and the ones I know would have also not been like Beezus because they're similar to Selena Gomez. I don't know how good of a movie it would have been for a completely new face. Sure, us adults wouldn't have mind, but the age group wants their known faces. That's my thought on it.

Theresa works as an artist/house decorator and makes a fair amount of money, but it's not enough for Ramona and Alex to eat 3 times a day and go to school at the same time. So Theresa decided that Alex will go to school as Ramona gets home schooled. Alex put up a fight and is currently not on good terms with their mom.

The complete lack of logic or sensible reasoning in that paragraph is beyond belief.

Although I suppose, since this is Sue-world, I shouldn't be surprised.
