Well, it's kinda hard to avoid commenting on it when they make it one of the most important parts of the story. Clothing can be a good characterizing device, but only when it doesn't disrupt the flow of the story. One article casually mentioned is so much more effective than these dumb eyeball-gouge-wrothy descriptions of entire outfits that Suethors seem to adore.
