0142: The Christian at Hogwarts - Ariana Alexis Azivedo

I know this one was just on deleterius, but I just had to give it my own treatment. It's not just every day that a fic can make me feel physically ill.

TITLE: The Christian at Hogwarts
PERPETRATOR: Serena S Snape (I could make a joke here concerning a former president, but nobody would get it)

SUE-O-METER:

I wonder if I should be bad and review asking "Does she plan on exorcising the ghosts...including the FAT FRIAR?" (and since he was a very proud Hufflepuff, I think that puts the lie to "wizards/witches being evil in the eyes of religion in HP-world" right there.)

Umm, yeah. chocobogoddess August 25 2003, 03:47:57 UTC
I don't know, it's kind of cute, but yeah. I'm getting flashes of my husband's grandmother's religious magazines that had headlines like, "Harry Potter: Delight or Devil?"

Oh, and YES!! Jesus Christ, Vampire Slayer!! I thought no one else had ever seen that flick! We brought it over to show a friend and his wife who love Jesus Christ Superstar...we told them it was only fair that we show them the OTHER musical about Jesus's life. >:D

What, the president whose middle name was S, too? *scratches her head* Or I could be missing the point. It is late.

Oh yes, and as for this fic. It frightens me. ('Course, I got my fair share of glares and talks for being a Christian toting around an HP book, but.... ugh. No words for this fic. None.)

Oh, hey, somebody did get it. I didn't think it was such common knowledge that the S only stood for... S.

Harry S Truman *giggles* I remember this story: his parents couldn't decide between Solomon and Samuel, after his grandfather, so left it at S.

Yeah, the info that bordergold replied with was something random my US History teacher said in a lecture, and I tend to pay more attention to the random snippets than the meat of the lecture (bad me). Though it paid off in that it was the extra credit question on the test ("What does the 'S' stand for?") and as I was the only one who got it right, my teacher bought me a soda. That sorta stuff tends to stick in the brain, instead of, oh, you know, boring things like when the war ended or the name of some guy who invented that thing. :P~

Jesus H. Tap dancing Christ.

What's with the "Stupid Pagan Girl" in her author's notes? Is this her muse? Some kind've not-so-clever social commentary? And the owl... WHAT'S WITH THE OWL??

And 74 reviews? Further proof that humanity is scum.

Sincerely

Um... I have a feeling it's two girls, one writing the story and the other egging her on. And they're er... 'special friends'.

O_o

I feel bad for this author. She needs to come out of the closet. And also realize that J.K. Rowling skirts around the issue of religion for a *reason*. ^_^;

I want to see her try and Christianize Hogwarts. No, really. Can you imagine her preaching to the Slytherins?

... you probably can. Fortunately, the awfulness if the mental image is tempered by imagining what the Slytherins would proceed to do.

I really hate it when religious people try to point out how pagan and devil-worshiping Harry Potter is. >
