You know what's especially annoying? When these Mary Sue vampire half-breeds never have any of the drawbacks of being a vampire, only the plus points. Even Blade the Daywalker had to deal with at least the thirst, you know.
Also: "Buffy had always been a beautiful site". I had to read that twice to realize it was supposed to be not "site" but "sight". My, Buffy, but you are a charming little location of a building...
I don't know who you're talking about, but I somehow doubt it, the author seems to be just a sue fan, who wants their character to be the bestest character ever, even better than all the lame original characters. Ow that hurt to write.

Really I do. Sure there are a few people who can pull them off, [Joss Whedon, Fred Perry/Ben Dunn] but even professinal crossovers usually suck.
People just because you watch Yugioh, CCS, Hamtaro, and Star Trek doesn't mean it'd make a good crossover. At least try to cross series that have something in common!
[I'll add that I've seen a Petshop of Horror/STAR TREK crossover. Yes Star Trek. I can't imagine two series being more dissimiliar unless you crossover Harry Potter and Ayn Rand.]

Although I'm with you here, I will note at this juncture that I have actually seen a Sailor Moon/Star Trek crossover that worked. No, really. It was fun. :)

I've seen a Star Wars/Care Bears story that made sense, and an X-Men/Pinky and the Brain that deservedly won a Comic Book Fan Fiction Award for Best Crossover. In fan fiction, a really good writer can make anything work. Of course, a lot of the bad writers see dissimilar universes merging and think, "If this person can do it, anyone can!" And that's where the trouble begins.
I don't watch Buffy, but my friends do, and I think that done right, it can be crossed nicely with the HP universe. Both have vampires, witches, werewolves, and oblivious -- as well as not-so-oblivious -- humans. However, it must be done right. This story doesn't seem to be quite there.
Yay, two violated fandoms for the price of one. This kind of total disregard for the canon characters really annoys me and I don´t even watch Buffy. And why do peple constantly have to make crossovers that just don´t work?
I love your tinsel wig comments. ^^ Half-Vampire...no weaknesses...worshipped...every plus in the book...crazy! I love these things. Life would be much more boring without this crud. ^^

(I can't remember if Sonja Blue had to deal with any drawbacks. I really don't think so, though.)

And there's the crux of it.
Weirdest one I've seen that worked? Daria/The X-Files.

Oh yeah, take a look at this one http://www.fanfiction.net/profile.php?userid=258385. Not only are her OCs self-inserts, it´s always the same one named after herself! In totally different fandoms!
