The plot is of a crackfic but the prose suggests the writer actually thought this was a good idea. And that just makes it even more horrifying.

One thing that I was taught when writing crossovers is that you've got to understand both canons to have a good fic. I am not sure about the Addams family canon, but the Harry Potter one at least is not very canon.

I only read through the first chapter, and while the author seems to have a good grasp on writing, I feel that they don't quite get that they have to respect both the canons they are writing for in fanfic. It's why I rarely do crossovers unless they are related. For example: Les trois mousquetaires (book)/BBC Musketeers 2014. Or CSI/CSI-Miami...

Very easy to keep track of the canons in those cases than to take something like the Addams family and try to pair it off with Harry Potter. Even doing something with Harry Potter/Merlin (BBC) can be extremely difficult.
