It took me a bit to figure out what was bothering me about this one beyond the fact the characters were the characters in name only.

I get why this pairing would interest certain writers/readers, but I also think the reason it interests certain writers/readers is a rather shallow interpretation of Draco's character. Yes, he's got his issues and he falls into a particular character type that they're latching onto, but he's more than that not to mention breaking away from that towards the end.
