Let me get this straight. Harry was abandoned, they identified him, yet didn't try contacting his biological parents let alone seeking ramifications if there was anything illegal going on? By this logic a kidnapped child can be abandoned and his actual biological parents can't seek getting their child back.

Also, what's with this idea that Lilly (not Lily) is a bad mother for having to choose one child over another? I get the fact this isn't a situation where she would have chosen, but this is a real life situation parents and others have to face. Take for example a building is burning down and you can carry only one child and neither can get out on their own. You've got to choose.
