I think what stands out the most is the writer completely doesn't get the point of their stories name sake. The Beast in all tales wasn't super handsome, but had some kind of personality flaw the main heroine helps them overcome. No, needing to mate isn't a personality flaw. Then there's the beauty whose beauty is in the purity of their heart, not physical beauty. So major fail here.
