Why does the suethor insist on making unneeded alterations to canon? I can't even see the logic behind going back in time. Who is this 'one she loves the most'? Luna doesn't even die in the books.

I tend to dwell on the moral implications of stories where a person effectively replaces the personality of another. Like did she basically murder universe B's Hermione? It seems like she has none of Hermione B's memories, yet Hermione B must have existed and been living a completely different and separate life because she was an orphan. Does Hermione B's preexisting self just go *poof*?

Why does any Suethor insist? For some, they see others doing it, so they think it is okay. For others, they don't get that an AU - Pottersues pointed to Sheldon Copper's quote regarding infinite worlds and how there are things that would still not happen, like him dancing. They don't understand certain things just don't work.

Like this whole time travel thing. It goes against the rules of Harry Potter universes time travel, but I'm not understanding why past Hermione would be that drastically different, let alone why Hermione would be going into the past. The reasons in fanfic are typically shallow.

Is this just me, or does this read more like a story where Hermione's parents die, and Harry's do not, thus making her the Girl-Who-Lived, yet the why and how doesn't make sense because the writer didn't bother with that at all.
