So, on top of coming back from a long vacation over the holidays, I’d been wondering where all the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them fics are, only to find out they - for some reason, have their own category despite being of the same canon as the Harry Potter series.

Title: A Seeing Eye Beast

Hi! Long time lurker.

And yes, it does seem odd that Fantastic Beasts would be separated from Harry Potter. Possibly to lighten the load of having so much Harry Potter stories?

Considering HP is the biggest fandom, quite possibly. Another option would be to list it as another world within the fandom.

It wasn't separated at first. I've been writing a Fantastic Beasts story for about a year, and back then, there was no separate category.

I thought so. I'm still wondering who decided this was a good idea, but whether it is actually a good idea. My first instinct still is to look in the HP category, but I'm still attempting to wrap my head around the idea of a HP/FB crossover when the two series are the same continuum and thus not a crossover.

I have to wonder why the writer has as many stories as they do and whether or not they're writing this way-out-there plot as a way of distinguishing it from their other stories. Judging by the plot of this fic and how Scamander is being misspelled, I have to wonder if they even seen the movie. How the hell do you even work with a giant bird as a seeing-eye animal? If it merely walks, then there are better suited animals. If it flies, then it's a poor leading animal, unless you're telling me it's somehow hovering over her without tiring.

PS: Like the anonymous reviewer before me, I also concluded that it's probably due to the sheer size of the fandom.

The writer comes across as unfocused honestly, not because of how many stories they have, but the fact 90% of what they have is incomplete, and the fact there is a ton of repetition in the plot.

The Suethor is for some reason infatuated with Frank the thunderbird.
