I don't believe that this is an allergy as much as the plant's poison. I mean, I am making the assumption that the Venemous Tentacula is named that for a reason.

Also, why would Madame Pomfrey encourage a student to remove herself from a class like this? From what I remember of the Harry Potter books, Madame Pomfrey didn't like the students participating in anything dangerous. If she was able to do this (without cause), then half the students would have been removed from Defence Against the Dark Arts.

I have to read the full story, and to be honest I am gathering as much as I can from what is said here. However, I agree having 'allergies' to a venomous plant isn't a flaw. I am making the assumption that the writer is young and has allergies themselves?
