I can't remember what Anime it was, possibly it was quite a few, but last time I checked young professional athletes typically don't get on national teams, and if they did, they don't "move" like the writer notes. Sure, they may move closer to their team, but not out of the country. It's pretty much staying a month or two near training camp, staying a few weeks during contest, and then they're back home.
