When wizards breed - the Wunderkinder

Leading a love story to the point where the happy couple is going to have a baby is actually a cliché in itself - and it's even one I can talk competently about because I do that all the time. Yet by reading through a few fics in the last day I discovered something I actually found quite funny ( Read more... )

Very much agreed. I gladly shafted this cliché in one of my one-shots, and it's still my favorite thing I've ever written.

Awesome post, and damn fine English. :D

It's lovely how people manage to bash pureblood philosophy and yet follow it themselves like their most beloved doctrine.

Just think about it. By breeding only smart people to smart people, we could create an overrace of ultrasmart wizards! Of course, those deemed unworthy by our death eaters, uh...I meant Tactical Deployment Eugenics Squads will be magically castrated to prevent them from spawning stupid kids.

ACCIO PENIS!

Utsch!

But if breeding were as simple as the formula "Smart female + smart male = uber smart kid" I wouldn't hang around here anymore, but would have my second secretary writing for me (because she'd be the one with the perfect English. Secretary No.1 would be the one with the perfect German spelling) while in the mean time the superb sport- and racing horses bred by me would earn the money for me. ;-)

In my opinion if Snape should ever become a father (and I don't think he would, at least not willingly), he would probably ignore the child until it's old enough to talk properly and treat him/her like a mini-adult. No cooing, no buying of toys and he would be addressed as Father, maybe Dad, but never ever Daddy.

Oh, and any daughter of Snape would probably look and act more like this (scroll down to the last bio) and not like some little sugar princess.

You know, I think I've thought before that Fatima looks an awful lot like Snape. That would be an interesting crossover ... Collin's sort of like Draco, too.

Yes - absolutely! Just so I've always imagined a Snape daughter. Poor thing ...

I have a feeling Snape wouldn't really want to much talk to the kid ("Stop that or else!" doesn't count) until they could make intelligent conversation or were 12 whichever cam first.
