Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 aka THE END OF EVERYONE'S CHILDHOOD

Jul 20, 2011 21:48

I've seen this 3 times so far. The first time was at the advanced screening for the NYC premiere on the 11th. Then at midnight on the 15th and finally today (the 20th) by myself. First two times was in 3D and the 3rd time was in 2D.

I solemnly swear I am up to no good )

the Advanced screening there was tons of cheering. Midnight showing was less...amazing. Like they didn't really cheer for Neville and only for Harry. boooo

I'm glad someone else thought it was awkward >< No one else seems to think so. Most people like....worship Snape. While I appreciate his bravery and stuff he's not my favorite. Maybe that's why I could laugh a little ><

I'm not too upset about not SEEING Tonks and Remus' deaths cause they aren't in the book but not seeing Fred's upsets me :/// I still get really teary eyed cause Remus is my most favorite character and Fred is up there too.

lol~ if you think of anything else feel free to leave me a comment ^_^

I watched this as well multiple times... IT never failed to bring tears into my eyes. It was wonderful, great! I really love this movie a lot! I think it was wonderfully done, although to be honestly cinematography-wise it is not the best. I think what sets this movie apart from the previous movies is that this one carries a certain emotion in it, and that with every second of film shown you could feel that everything is about to end.

I really felt for the characters. One notable scene as well was when they found out Harry was still alive and George kind of look in his side, seemingly looking for Fred to share the good news. It totally wretched my heart. My favorite scene would probably be during the time when they were re-inforcing Hogwarts... it was epic! And made me cry buckets!!! Snape was exceptional as well. I really love the scene with Snape's past... I really am a sucker for such stories.

Harry Potter will forever be alive in my mind. It was a wonderful book series, and it was a great movie series as well.

This movie is probably mostly super emotional for fans who have read the books (but I do know people who have only seen the movies and thought it was absolutely amazing) because we know everything that is going to happen and we're anticipating it. or something.

My favorite scene would probably be during the time when they were re-inforcing Hogwarts
I'm glad you also found this super emotional! I don't really know anyone who feels the same way about that scene as I do.

This film just disappointed me SO MUCH though! And the reason is because it really was, truly, the most amazing of them all, and there was so emotion in every single scene. Until about halfway through the movie, I was shaking and watching everything with huge eyes like a little kid, and I kept poking my friend beside me because I was excited about the scene coming up... it was like the emotion was just overflowing and like you said, every single scene had this weight to it. The weight of "This is the end. This is the end." Over and over. And it was like everything about the Harry Potter movies, finally come together and PERFECTED ( ... )

They jumped right into the battle really. But that's what happens in the book (minus a little camping trip when they jump off the dragon. But I don't think anyone wants MORE camping).

I'm hoping for maybe some deleted scene for Dumbledore/Grindlewald. I mean they cast the actors and I'm pretty sure they shot stuff. I heard that they didn't have a final version of the film until a few weeks before the film was released (which is really uncommon). I just keep holding out for deleted scenes on the DVD.....

(WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR FRIENDS??? Neville was amazing. I've always kind of liked him, but my love for other characters out weighs it. But the whole battle I was just kind of like FUCK YEAH NEVILLE. Most epic character in the entire series I think.)

Absolutely right on the Resurrection Stone scene! I bawled my eyes out when I watched it for the first time (I kept taking out my 3d glasses to wipe the tears) and when I got to catch HP for the second time, I was still a crying mess at the exact scene ( ... )
